Jenna and me after VBC (part 2 day 1!). Exhausting, but definitely fun and rewarding!!! :D
Wow. Sorry this has taken so long. I’ve been trying for days to word this the right way.
In the end, all I could come up with are these two words:
Thank you.
Seriously. Thank you all. You’ve helped me in ways that you probably don’t even realize.
Coming into the group my junior year, I was shy and had the stage presence of a flea. I had zero confidence in myself as a musician or a performer. I wasn’t even truly confident in my ability to make friends. I was too serious; I didn’t know how to have fun. I was a nerdy bookworm who happened to love music but had no one to share it with.
The RockNRoll Chorus changed my life. Being surrounded by a family who is this incredible is an experience like no other. I learned so much about myself and others. I learned how to live life and believe in the power of music. I learned that good friends do exist and I can be myself and be happy.
The staff this summer was absolutely incredible. Your vocal and creative direction have inspired me to become a better musician and performer. I am truly grateful to each of you for always being there for us, and always having a new lesson or a funny joke to share. Your hard work and dedication is something that I will always admire and strive to attain. Thank you for supporting us every step of the way.
Cast members, I could write an inside joke or funny story that involves every one of you. Never have I ever felt closer to a group of people than I’ve felt towards you all. You’ve shown me the true meaning of friendship and support. I know all of you are going to go very far in life, and I hope we all stay in touch.
So, I’m leaving for college in less than two weeks. I made a list for myself of things not to forget. The first one is my lam. I’m hanging it on my wall so I can think of you all every time I feel sad or overwhelmed. I will always remember how much this group has affected me, and I hope that every member continues to put forth the hard work necessary to make this group as incredible as it can be.
So, once again, thank you. I’m going to college confident in myself because of The RockNRoll Chorus and all of the experiences I’ve had through it.
I love you all.
Sing on just a little while longer, everything will be alright. <3 :)
